This is a licensed UFC release issued under Niue's long-running commemorative coin program, which has operated since the 1980s and accounts for a substantial portion of the island's nominal revenue. Niue itself has a population under 2,000 and no independent mint — these coins are produced by external minting houses and legal tender status is largely a technicality. The UFC branding tie-in follows a wave of sports-licensing deals that flooded the silver bullion market from roughly 2015 onward.
