Obverse description The coin is struck in the three-dimensional form of Thorin Oakenshield's key from The Hobbit, with the obverse face displaying the Public Seal of Niue at center on the shank of the key, rendered in fine relief against a textured field. The bow of the key features geometric angular cutouts framed by incuse diamond and chevron border ornaments in a Dwarven architectural style. To the left of the seal, serial number fields read '0000' and '1000'. The date '2026' and denomination '$2.00' appear along the shank, accompanied by the inscriptions 'PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE', 'ATUA', 'NIUE TUKULAGI', '3/4 oz 999 Pure Silver', and the copyright legend '© & ™ New Line Production Inc. (s26)'.

Reverse description The reverse face of this key-shaped coin depicts the shank and bit decorated with intricate Dwarven geometric motifs, including rows of incuse chevrons and diamond patterns engraved along the borders. A prominent raised diamond-shaped central device is positioned at the midpoint of the shank, flanked on either side by runic inscriptions reading 'ᛞᚢᚱᛁᚾ ᚻᛖᛁᚱ' ('Durin Heir'), rendered in the Elder Futhark runic script. The bit of the key at right is fashioned with angular stepped cutouts echoing the architectural motifs of the Dwarven realm of Erebor. The antiqued finish enhances the depth and relief of all design elements, lending the piece an aged, ancient character consistent with its Tolkien-inspired theme.
