Niue has long served as a licensing vehicle for the New Zealand-administered territory's coin program, which generates revenue through collectible issues rather than circulating currency. This piece belongs to a tetromino-themed series built around the geometric puzzle pieces popularized by Alexey Pajitnov's 1985 Soviet-developed game — the T-tetromino being the four-square T-shaped piece central to the game's mechanics.
