Reverse description The reverse reproduces in full color the iconic cover artwork of Sensation Comics No. 1 (January 1942), the debut issue in which Wonder Woman was introduced to mainstream readership. Wonder Woman is depicted in dynamic action at center, shown leaping forward in her patriotic costume of red bodice, star-spangled blue skirt, and red boots, her golden lasso trailing behind her, set against a large circular yellow sun. Vanquished adversaries are shown fallen in the left foreground, while startled onlookers appear at right before a background featuring the United States Capitol dome and a building flying the American flag. The masthead SENSATION COMICS is rendered in bold blue letters on a red banner across the upper field, with the DC COMICS ORIGINALS roundel at upper right and the cover price 10¢ in a blue circle at the lower left.
