| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse celebrates the centennial of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), spanning 100 years of aviation history. The brass-plated inner core features the RCAF roundel above a Model H CC-130 Hercules depicted at an upward angle, alluding to the RCAF motto Sic itur ad astra ('Such is the pathway to the stars'); the double dates 1924 2024 appear within the core to mark the centennial. The outer nickel-plated steel ring displays eight historically significant RCAF aircraft arranged around the circumference: on the left, the Finch Mk. II, CSR-123 Otter, F-86 Sabre Mk. 6, and CF-100 Canuck Mk. 5; on the right, the CT-114 Tutor, CC-115 Buffalo, CF-188 Hornet, and CH-146 Griffon helicopter. The legends CANADA and 2 DOLLARS arc along the outer ring, with the engraver's initials PYF also present. |
