To the left, an engraved starburst pulsar map radiates fourteen lines annotated in binary notation indicating the Sun's position relative to known pulsars. The upper field displays the hyperfine transition diagram of the hydrogen atom, while the lower register depicts the solar system with a trajectory line indicating the spacecraft's path from the third planet. The field is otherwise plain, with no legends, the entire composition faithfully replicating the original NASA plaque design by Carl Sagan and Frank Drake. |
