Marvel's X-Men #1, published in September 1963, was the first appearance of the original five mutants — and it nearly didn't get a second issue. Sales were weak enough in the early years that the title was effectively put on reprints by 1970 before the 1975 relaunch with an all-new international team revived it entirely. Niue has issued Royal Mint-produced pop culture silver rounds under its authority since the early 2010s, a legal arrangement that generates licensing revenue for the island territory while producing coins that circulate almost nowhere.
