Additional information

Kiki and Lala — known in the West as the Little Twin Stars — are a Sanrio character pair introduced in 1975, predating Hello Kitty's commercial dominance and occupying a distinct pastel-fantasy niche in the brand's roster. Niue has issued Sanrio-licensed silver pieces for several years, functioning less as circulating currency than as collector premiums sold through international distributors. The Charles III obverse marks one of the first years this licensing program updated its regal portrait following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022.
