Gilderoy Lockhart is a fictional character from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, a fraudulent celebrity wizard whose manufactured heroics were a running joke across the novels. Niue has issued Warner Bros.–licensed bullion and collector coinage for years, and this piece falls squarely in that program. The Charles III obverse places it firmly in post-Elizabethan Commonwealth coinage, one of the first Harry Potter issues to carry his effigy rather than Elizabeth II's.
