Reverse description Rectangular reverse struck in full colour, reproducing a three-panel vintage Garfield comic strip originally published on 23 October 1978, drawn by Jim Davis. In the first panel, Garfield is depicted discovering the teddy bear Pooky in a dresser drawer, with the thought-bubble legend HELLO, WHAT'S THIS? In the second panel, Garfield examines the bear at arm's length with the derisive thought-bubble A TEDDY BEAR. A DUMB, STUPID, SILLY-LOOKING OLD TEDDY BEAR. The third panel shows Garfield seated contentedly with Pooky clasped to his chest and the thought-bubble I THINK I'LL CALL HIM "POOKY". The creator's signature JIM DAVIS appears vertically along the right border, and the copyright notice ©1978 PAWS, INC. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED and the date notation 10·23 are inscribed along the lower margin.
