Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a full-color photographic reproduction of President John F. Kennedy tenderly cradling a young child, evoking his role as a father, set within a circular central field with a naturalistic sky background. The legend JOHN F. KENNEDY arcs across the upper border in raised Latin letters, while AN AMERICAN LIFE curves along the lower border. A star rendered in the colors of the American flag appears at the lower left, and the word FATHER is inscribed within a blue rectangular cartouche at the lower center of the image. Six five-pointed stars are evenly spaced around the silver border at the sides.

Aanvullende informatie

Part of a broader commemorative program marking the centennial of John F. Kennedy's birth, this Cook Islands issue is one of dozens of licensed silver releases that have flooded the collector market since the early 2000s under agreements between Pacific island sovereigns and European minting houses — primarily the Mint of Poland and B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt. The actual monetary authority of Cook Islands is exercised through New Zealand, making the "2 Dollars" denomination largely nominal.
