| Obverse description | The obverse presents a richly detailed composition dominated by the Charles IV reliquary cross depicted in fine relief, its ornate gothic frame decorated with figural panels along the arms and a central oval recess housing the relic of Christ's loincloth. To the left, a scene of the Crucifixion is engraved in the field, showing Christ on the cross bearing the INRI titulus, with a mourning figure of the Virgin Mary at lower left. The Public Seal of Niue, surmounted by a royal crown, is applied in the lower centre of the field, inscribed with the legend PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE and the mottoes ATUA and NIUE TUKULAGI on a scroll below. The denomination 2 DOLLARS and the date 2026 arc along the upper periphery, flanking the cross, with the fineness mark Ag 999 inscribed vertically along the right border. |
