| Obverse description | The Public Seal of Niue is depicted at center-right within a rectangular framed panel, featuring the crowned heraldic shield flanked by two crossed traditional Niuean clubs, surrounded by a wreath, with the legend PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE arcing above and the motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI inscribed on a scroll below. Saint Ludmila, grandmother of Wenceslas I of Bohemia, was strangled on the orders of her own daughter-in-law Drahomíra in 921 AD — making her the first recorded Bohemian Christian martyr. Her cult was established rapidly, and she was canonized before the end of the tenth century, centuries before any formal papal canonization process existed.
Niue's ongoing relationship with Czech and Slovak cultural subjects reflects a licensing arrangement rather than any geographic or political connection to Central Europe.
