| Reverse description | A gilt gold-plated effigy of the medieval reliquary bust of Saint Ludmila of Bohemia occupies the center of the field, rendered in high relief and faithfully reproducing the famous Gothic reliquary housed at Prague Castle. The saint is depicted veiled and wearing a decorative jeweled collar along the base of the bust, her face rendered in the characteristic stylized manner of the original 14th-century goldsmith work. To the left, a Gothic rose window tracery pattern is depicted in silver relief against the background field, evoking the ecclesiastical setting of the relic. The Czech legend BUSTA SVATÉ LUDMILY arcs along the right side of the field. A small engraver's mark appears at lower center-right. |
