Reverse description A dramatic high-relief scene commemorating the Battle of Stalingrad (1942–1943). A Soviet soldier in winter greatcoat and helmet stands in the left foreground, his back to the viewer, raising a flag triumphantly while leaning against a ruined brick wall. The middle and background field depict the devastated cityscape with bombed-out buildings, a Soviet T-34 tank bearing a red star and the inscription РОССИЯ, a downed German aircraft with visible swastika markings, and infantry figures engaged in combat. The legend BITKA O STALINGRAD arcs across the upper field, with the date range 1942–1943 below it. The engraver's initials MK appear in the lower right field.
