| Additional information |
Niue has issued DC Comics-licensed coins since 2012, making it one of the longer-running arrangements between a sovereign mint program and an American comics publisher. The island's coin program is produced under contract and has no connection to local circulation — Niue's actual economy uses the New Zealand dollar.
Batgirl's inclusion in the series followed earlier Batman-family releases, tracking DC's broader publishing push around Barbara Gordon's return to the cowl in the 2011 New 52 relaunch.
