The Bank of Upper Canada chartered in Kingston — not to be confused with the later York-based institution of the same name that received its charter in 1821 — operated briefly and left almost no paper trail in surviving collections. The Kingston operation never achieved the stability its founders intended, and notes from this period are among the rarest of all pre-Confederation Canadian issues.
Pick S1992 falls within the "S" series designation, indicating a regional or private bank issue outside the main sequence — catalogued but sparsely documented.
