| 表面の説明 | The obverse features the Public Seal of Niue at centre, depicting a flowering plant within a circular wreath of leaves, surmounted by a royal crown. A scroll below the seal bears the motto 'ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI'. The circular legend 'TWO DOLLARS FIFTY CENTS PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE' arcs around the upper field, while the date '2021' appears in the lower exergue. Two crossed implements flank the base of the seal, all rendered in high-relief proof finish on a polished field. |

The Baltic Way commemorates the August 23, 1989 human chain in which roughly two million people linked hands across approximately 675 kilometers through Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania — all three then Soviet republics. The date was chosen deliberately: the 50th anniversary of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, whose secret protocol had handed the Baltic states to Soviet occupation in 1939. Less than two and a half years after the chain, all three nations had regained independence.
Niue's role here is purely fiduciary — the island's coin program is administered largely for the collector market, with New Zealand dollars serving actual commerce. This piece is among the smallest gold issues in the Baltic Way series, at half a gram of .9999 fine gold.
