Additional information

Marie Louise Gonzaga — born Maria Luisa González de Mantua in 1611 — became Queen of Poland twice over, first as wife of Władysław IV and then of his brother John II Casimir. She wielded genuine political influence in Warsaw, backing reform efforts that Polish nobility spent considerable energy blocking. The Gonzaga connection to Mantua was severed by the time of her birth; the duchy had already passed through dynastic crisis, and the family's fortunes were declining across Europe.

Niue's legal tender framework allows the New Zealand dependency to license commemorative bullion programs of this kind, with face value wholly notional on a half-gram planchet.
