Opmerkingen

Belize's shift to polymer on this denomination follows the broader Caribbean push toward substrate modernization, driven largely by durability data from Commonwealth currencies that have been running polymer notes since the 1990s. De La Rue's polymer platform — distinct from the Guardian substrate originally developed by the Reserve Bank of Australia — has been gaining traction with smaller Central American and Caribbean issuers over the past decade.

The clear window integrated into P#73 is structural to the polymer base rather than a punched feature, which meaningfully complicates counterfeiting attempts without adding significant production cost at scale.
