Opmerkingen

The British Caribbean Territories (Eastern Group) Currency Board was established in 1950 to provide a unified circulating medium across the Windward and Leeward Islands, Barbados, British Guiana, and Trinidad and Tobago — a politically awkward coalition that never achieved the broader federation its architects envisioned. This note belongs to the board's inaugural series, issued from the moment the new authority came into existence.

Bradbury, Wilkinson printed the series to a high standard, as was customary for their colonial work. The 1950–51 date range reflects the first two years of issue only; the board continued using closely related designs well into the 1960s, which means early-dated examples from this first print run are meaningfully scarcer than the later issues collectors more commonly encounter.
