Obverse description Bicolour note printed in red and green, with a red guilloche underprint and ornate border. Two circular vignettes flank a central large numeral '2': the left vignette shows a sailing ship before a coastal mountain with the motto 'MISCERIQUE PROBAT POPULOS ET FOEDERA JUNGI' below and 'TRINIDAD' caption, while the right vignette presents a palm-lined coastal scene with the motto 'PULCHRIOR EVENIT' and 'TOBAGO' caption. The issuer title 'THE GOVERNMENT OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO' arches across the top, 'TWO DOLLARS' is inscribed centrally, and a promise-to-pay text reading 'Promises to pay the Bearer on demand the sum of Two dollars Port of Spain 1st April, 1905' appears in the lower panel above three Commissioner of Currency signature lines, with the printer's imprint 'THOS DE LA RUE & CO LTD LONDON' at the foot.
