| Obverse description | Central field enclosed within a beaded border (grenetis) bearing a religious inscription arranged in compartments. The names of the first three Rashidun caliphs — Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman — are disposed radially around the central name of Ali, with the Shahada (kalima) completing the composition. The inscriptions are rendered in Arabic script in a typical Ilkhanid epigraphic style, characteristic of late medieval Islamic hammered silver coinage. |
