Obverse description Central field bears the Shahada in multiple lines of Arabic script enclosed within a lobed octafoil cartouche, the cusped outline of which is clearly defined in relief. The names of the four Rightly-Guided Caliphs — Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali — are disposed in the marginal legend, reading clockwise, between an inner plain linear circle and an outer dotted border. The flan is irregular in outline, as is characteristic of hammered Ilkhanid silver coinage of this period.
