The mint mark 'R' (Rome) appears in small letters at the base of the centre. The copper-nickel outer ring carries the circular legend commemorating the XXIV Olympiad, with the denomination '2 DINERS' inscribed at the bottom of the ring. |

Andorra issued this piece in 1985 — a full year before the 1986 Seoul bid was even confirmed — anticipating the Games ultimately held in 1988. The bimetallic format was uncommon for Andorran coinage of the period, and KM#28 remains one of the earlier examples of the technique used by the principality. Joan Martí i Alanis, the Episcopal Co-Prince at the time, had held the position since 1971 under the unusual diarchic arrangement that gives both the Bishop of Urgell and the French President nominal sovereignty over Andorra.
