Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged within a quatrefoil frame, reading 'Zarb do dinar Qunduz' (struck two dinars, Qunduz), identifying both the denomination and the mint. The text is executed in a bold, somewhat cursive style filling the quatrefoil lobes. Secondary decorative motifs occupy the spandrels between the quatrefoil and the outer border. The overall composition is typical of the administrative coinage of the minor Central Asian principalities of the late Timurid period.
