Additional information

Issued at the precise moment Yugoslavia was dissolving, these coins circulated — briefly — across a federation that ceased to exist before the series concluded. The 1991 and 1992 strikes effectively served a ghost state; Slovenia and Croatia declared independence in June 1991, and the National Bank of Yugoslavia lost authority over most of the territory it nominally served within eighteen months of the first issue.
