正面铭文 ✠ LVDOVICVS ⋮ COMES
(Translation: Count Louis.)
背面描述 Two-line inscription occupying the central field, reading COMI / TIS in bold uncial characters, with a three-pellet or trefoil flower motif positioned above the inscription. The entire central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential legend MONETA DVPLEX COMITIS running between the inner circle and the toothed outer rim. The reverse design conforms to the standard typology of medieval double deniers struck in the Low Countries under comital authority.

附加信息

Louis IV of Loon ruled a county whose political position was chronically unstable — squeezed between the Prince-Bishopric of Liège and the Duchy of Brabant, both of whom had competing monetary ambitions in the region. The "Double Parisis" denomination itself derives from the Parisian monetary system, reflecting how deeply French royal coinage had penetrated the Meuse valley as a de facto standard by the early fourteenth century.

The thirteen-year span of this issue suggests continuous production rather than a single emission, consistent with the monetary needs of a small county without the resources to negotiate frequent new coinage agreements with its feudal neighbors.
