| Popis rubu | Central field occupied by a crowned heraldic shield bearing the combined arms of the Spanish Habsburg rulers as Lords of Tournai, struck in low relief on an irregularly shaped hammered flan. The shield is surmounted by an elaborate crown, its details partially softened by wear and the nature of the hammered technique. A Latin peripheral legend reading ARCH AVS DVCES BVRG DOM TOR encircles the shield, proclaiming the titles of Archduke of Austria, Dukes of Burgundy, and Lords of Tournai. The surfaces exhibit characteristic copper patination with areas of green oxidation consistent with age and burial. The overall style conforms to the typology of Flemish and Walloon copper deniers of the Archdukes' period. |
