| 背面描述 | A harbour scene rendered in detailed intaglio work occupies the central vignette, with a convoy of cargo vessels and traditional sailing junks on open water, rocky outcrops and a coastal settlement visible in the background. The composition is framed by an intricate guilloche border with ornamental corner devices, and the bold denomination inscription "HAI ĐỒNG" is centred at the foot of the note. |

The 1985 Vietnamese 2 Đồng belongs to a series issued during one of the most economically turbulent periods in the country's post-reunification history. Hyperinflation was accelerating badly through the mid-1980s, rendering low denominations like this one functionally useless almost immediately upon release. The 1986 Đổi Mới reforms that followed effectively rendered the entire pre-reform currency stock obsolete within a few years.
The "30.04.1945" printed date is almost certainly a catalog or data error — that date predates the State Bank of Vietnam's existence by several years. The note physically dates to 1985.
