Juno Beach was the Canadian sector of the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944, where the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division and 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade suffered roughly 1,000 casualties in a single day — the second-highest Allied loss rate of any beach that morning. Gibraltar's commemorative output for D-75th anniversary anniversaries leaned heavily on the beach designations, producing separate issues for each of the five landing zones.
The 9-carat specification keeps the gold content modest at 3 grams fine, placing this squarely in the affordable commemorative tier rather than the bullion market.
