备注

The Banco Internacional de Costa Rica was created by the government in 1900 to function as a state-controlled institution alongside the existing private banks — a deliberate move toward centralized monetary management that would eventually lead to full nationalization decades later. This issue, running from 1902 to 1905, was among the earlier products of that mandate.

The "stamped back" designation reflects a common ABNC economy measure: the reverse was left unprinted, with necessary authorization or control text applied by rubber stamp or handstamp rather than through a second press run. Worth examining closely, as the stamp type and ink can help narrow the issue date within the series.
