Opmerkingen

The Northeast Kiangsi Soviet Bank was one of several local soviet financial institutions operating within the Chinese Communist base areas during the Jiangxi Soviet period, when the CCP maintained a fragile territorial government under constant Nationalist encirclement campaigns. The North Fukien Branch designation reflects the geographic push into northern Fujian province — a contested zone where Red Army units briefly held ground in the early 1930s before Chiang Kai-shek's Fifth Encirclement Campaign forced the eventual Long March evacuation of 1934.

Notes from these peripheral branch soviets are considerably scarcer than issues from the Central Soviet Bank, as production volumes were small and most surviving paper was destroyed or lost during the Communist retreat. P#S3440A sits in a series where forgeries and facsimiles have circulated among collectors — authentication against known genuine examples is advisable before any significant transaction.
