Reverse description The reverse displays a horse or equine figure standing or prancing, rendered schematically in the field, consistent with the iconography of early Armenian regal bronzes attributed to Artaxias I. The Aramaic inscription BR 'RTXŠT ('son of Artaxias') appears in the field alongside the device. The die work is crude and the strike uneven, typical of hammered issues on irregular flans from this early period of Armenian coinage. The green patina of verdigris covers much of the surface, partially obscuring the design details.
