Reverse description A horse standing in profile to the left with the right foreleg raised in a prancing pose, rendered in a simple but bold Hellenistic style. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΤΙΓΡΑΝΟΥ is distributed around the horse in two vertical columns flanking the central device, reading 'Of Great King Tigranes.' The exergue is plain. The overall design reflects the Hellenized iconographic conventions of Armenian royal bronze coinage of the late 1st century BC.
