| 背面描述 | A stylised aquatic plant or seaweed motif is depicted diagonally across the central field, overlying a background of multiple horizontal parallel lines suggestive of water or striations. The denomination numeral 2 appears prominently in the upper left field, with the inscription CEROS to its right and the smaller legend XEROS accompanied by a copyright symbol positioned immediately above. The overall composition has a modern, graphic artistic character. |

The Latvian cents coinage — locally spelled santīmi — was introduced in 1922, suppressed entirely during the Soviet occupation, and revived in 1991 alongside the restored republic. These copper-composition minor coins circulated until Latvia's adoption of the euro in 2014, after which all lats and santīmi denominations were demonetized.
