背面描述 Central device depicts the shield of the Liberian national arms, bearing eleven horizontal stripes in the upper canton with a single five-pointed star, flanked by six vertical stripes below, all set within a beaded inner circle. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST arcs along the upper legend, separated by a star at each terminal, while the denomination TWO CENTS and the date 1890 appear along the lower periphery, also flanked by stars. A toothed border surrounds the entire reverse field.

附加信息

Liberia's 1890 coinage patterns were produced in London, almost certainly by the Heaton Mint in Birmingham, which handled the bulk of Liberian coinage contracts during this period. Whether this 2 cents piece was ever seriously intended for circulation is unclear — Liberia's monetary system in the late nineteenth century was plagued by chronic shortages of subsidiary coinage, yet pattern proposals routinely died in committee without explanation.

The X#Pn5 reference places it firmly in pattern territory, with no confirmed circulation strike of this denomination from this year.
