The circular legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery, with the engraver's initials W.J.T. appearing at the conclusion of the inscription.

Popis rubu	A tall palm tree rising from a coastal landscape, flanked by low-lying terrain and distant water, all contained within a raised inner circle. Two five-pointed stars flank the design at the left and right of the border. The denomination TWO CENTS arcs along the upper legend, and the date 1847 appears in the exergual area along the lower border.
