| 正面描述 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicting the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara and drop earrings with a draped neckline. The truncation of the bust bears the designer's initials IRB. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs across the upper left field and COOK ISLANDS arcs across the upper right field, with the date 2002 appearing in the lower field. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a mirror-like proof field. |

Maundy Money is a specifically English royal tradition dating to the medieval period, in which the monarch distributes specially struck coins to elderly recipients — one coin per year of the sovereign's age — on the Thursday before Easter. The Cook Islands had no part in originating or maintaining that custom. This 2002 issue is a private-mint fantasy piece exploiting the Maundy name for collector appeal, bearing no connection to the Royal Mint's official Maundy sets struck annually for the British Crown.
