Reverse description Central depiction of the Frill-necked Lizard (Chlamydosaurus kingii), also known as the Frilled Dragon, shown in a characteristic display posture with its distinctive frill fully extended. The design, originally engraved by Stuart Devlin for the decimal coinage series introduced in 1966, captures the species native to northern Australia and southern New Guinea. The denomination 2 appears to the left of the lizard, with the designer's initials SD to the right, all within a plain field.
