Andorra issued its first domestic coinage only in 1936, and even then circulation was minimal — the principality had long relied on French and Spanish currency by convention rather than legal necessity. These brass cèntims from the mid-2000s predate Andorra's euro adoption negotiations and represent the tail end of the indigenous diners series, struck at the Casa de Moneda in Madrid under agreement with the Andorran government's Consell General.
