| Obverse description | Draped bust of Marianne, the allegorical figure of Liberty, facing right, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with an olive branch and her hair arranged in loose curls falling to her shoulder. The engraving, by Dupuis, is rendered in a finely detailed Art Nouveau style with naturalistic foliage. The legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE curves around the upper rim, with the word REPUBLIQUE to the left and FRANÇAISE to the right of the effigy. A raised rim borders the design. |

| Obverse lettering | REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE (Translation: Republic of France) |
| Reverse description | Central denomination numeral '2' above the word CENTIMES, all enclosed within a tied laurel and oak wreath occupying the field. The date appears below the wreath in the lower exergue. The republican motto LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE curves around the upper and lower rim, separated by small decorative stops. The overall composition is symmetrical and restrained, typical of Third Republic minor coinage. |
