| Obverse description | The obverse carries a central vignette of the Paços do Conselho of Tomar — the former Paços Reais erected by King Manuel I and subsequently remodelled in Mannerist style — set against the backdrop of the Sete Montes Forest, the Convent of Christ, and the Templar Castle; to the right appears a vignette of the celebrated Chapter Window of the Convent of Christ, a masterpiece of Manueline stonework dating to 1510. The inscription CAMARA MUNICIPAL TOMAR runs along the border in letterpress, with ornamental corner devices framing the composition. |
