On the left, we can see the “Paços do Conselho” of Tomar, the former “Paços Reais” that D. Manuel I built and gave to the Tomar City Council. The Mannerist refurbishment they received in the 16th century eliminated the Manueline-style decoration they had previously had. The building is set against the backdrop of the Sete Montes Forest, the Convent of Christ and the Templar Castle. On the right we see the Chapter Window of the Convent of Christ in Tomar, built in 1510, the most fascinating Manueline-style work in Portugal.
