| Obverse description | The Honduran national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a triangular pyramid set within an oval cartouche, flanked by a quiver of arrows, a cornucopia, and tools of industry, without clouds above the pyramid. The date of issue appears in the exergue below the arms. A circular legend surrounds the device, reading 'REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS LIBRE SOBERANA E INDEPENDIENTE' along the upper and lower periphery, with the independence date '15 SEPT BRE 1821' incorporated into the arms inscription. The design is executed in a restrained neoclassical style consistent with Central American republican coinage of the mid-twentieth century. |
