| Reverse description | The reverse features the large numeral 2 prominently displayed at right, indicating the denomination, set against a diagonally lined field. To the left, the European Union flag is depicted as a waving banner bearing a circle of twelve stars. A cartouche inscribed SPECIMEN appears in the lower right field, confirming the piece's status as a non-circulating specimen strike. The design closely follows the standard 2 Euro cent reverse format. |

| Additional information |
Denmark never issued a 2 Cent coin as a domestic currency — these pieces exist solely because Denmark, despite being an EU member, has not adopted the euro. The 2 Cent coins dated 2002–2003 were struck speculatively or as collector sets anticipating an accession that never came, a situation Denmark shares with Sweden and the United Kingdom from that period.
