| Beschrijving keerzijde | A highly detailed, naturalistic depiction of a greater noctule bat (Nyctalus lasiopterus) in flight dominates the central field, its wings fully extended and body rendered in fine relief against a dramatically clouded nocturnal sky with stylised foliage to either side. A large full moon, selectively gilded in gold, occupies the upper centre of the composition, serving as a vivid focal point. The antique finish applied to the silver field creates a strong contrast with the gilded moon, enhancing the atmospheric, nocturnal effect. The species' common name GREATER NOCTULE BAT arcs along the left rim, while the binomial scientific designation NYCTALUS LASIOPTERUS arcs along the right rim. |
