| Obverse description | Central square hole (cash coin type) flanked by four Chinese ideograms arranged in cruciform reading order: top-to-bottom, right-to-left. The characters 至正通寶 (Zhizheng Tongbao) are rendered in regular script (kaishu), deeply cast in relief against a flat field with raised inner and outer rims. The inscription references the Zhizheng reign era (1341–1368) of Emperor Toghon Temür of the Yuan dynasty, denoting 'universal currency of the Zhizheng era'. |

| Reverse description | Central square hole flanked above by a single character in ʼPhags-pa script, cast in relief and read vertically, denoting a specific year in the Chinese sexagenary (cyclical) calendar. The reverse field is otherwise plain, bounded by raised inner and outer rims consistent with Yuan dynasty cash coinage. The ʼPhags-pa script character serves as a dating marker unique to this series, allowing individual years of issue within the Zhizheng era to be identified. |
