Obverse description Cast brass cash coin featuring four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged symmetrically around a central square hole, read in the traditional order: top, bottom, right, left, forming the reign title legend 天啓通寶 (Tianqi Tongbao). The raised characters are set within a plain inner rim and an outer raised rim, with the field showing the characteristic flat, slightly rough surface typical of Ming dynasty cast coinage. The calligraphic style is bold and well-defined, reflecting official mint production of the Tianqi period (1621–1627).
