Obverse description Cast bronze cash coin featuring four Chinese ideograms in cursive running script (xingshu), arranged radially around a central square perforation and read in the traditional clockwise sequence top-right-bottom-left. The characters 紹聖元寶 (Shaosheng Yuanbao) are rendered with fluid, calligraphic strokes characteristic of the running script style favored during the reign of Emperor Zhezong. A plain inner rim borders the square hole, and a raised outer rim encircles the coin's periphery, both fields otherwise unadorned.
